Flash It

Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 18, 2026

This page explains what personal data Flash It collects, why, and what choices you have. It applies to anyone using the Flash It app.

Who we are

Flash It is an app for sharing climbing crags, routes, topos and beta. This policy explains what data we collect and why. For any privacy question or request, email climbing.flash.it@gmail.com.

What we collect

Account data: your email address, full name, and a password — or your Google account details if you sign in with Google.

Profile data you choose to add: height, gender, birth year, sport and boulder grades, climbing preferences, and a profile photo.

Content you publish: routes, crags, beta docs, topos, chat messages, and likes.

Technical data needed to keep you logged in: a single session cookie.

Why we collect it

To run your account and let you log in.

To show your published content to other climbers.

To personalize route recommendations based on your grades and preferences.

To send account-related emails, like verifying your address.

To let you message other users about their publications.

Who else sees it

We use Google to offer "Sign in with Google", Resend to send verification emails, and — only if you consent — Google Analytics to understand how the app is used. None of these are used for advertising. Content you publish (routes, topos, beta) is public by design — that's the point of the app. Profile details like height or birth year are only shown if you choose to display them.

Where it's stored

Your data is stored on our own servers and database. We don't sell it or share it with data brokers.

How long we keep it

As long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time from your profile — this removes your account and personal data.

Your rights

You can access, correct, or delete your data at any time. You can request a copy of your data, or ask us to stop processing it, by emailing climbing.flash.it@gmail.com. If you're in the EU/EEA, you can also file a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Cookies

We use one essential cookie (flashit_token) to keep you logged in — this doesn't require your consent under EU law. With your consent, we also use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the app, which sets analytics cookies. You'll be asked to accept or decline this the first time you visit, and you can change your mind at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser. We don't use advertising cookies.

Children

Flash It isn't intended for children under 16.

Changes

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Significant changes will be reflected here with an updated date.
